eQUEST Energy Modeling Attendees will learn how to use eQUEST software to create building models following ASHRAE 90.1 Appendix G protocol required by LEED NC. The course will begin with overview of the key features of eQUEST and Appendix G, and then work on a case study, modeling the systems and construction of a typical office building. We will start by importing CAD drawings into a simulation file, and then cover the various input and reporting requirements of Appendix G as applied to this building, relying on eQUEST’s Wizard and Detailed Interface. Prior knowledge of eQUEST and energy modeling is not required, but familiarity with building science and computer modeling is recommended. eQUEST freeware may be downloaded from http://www.doe2.com/download/equest/eQUEST_3-63b_Setup.exe.
The workshop fee includes tuition for both days, 100+ page handout, lunch, and light breakfast. Class size is limited to 20 people, with two instructors one of whom will help individuals with the exercises.
