- An ENERGY STAR Room AC without louvred sides, commonly referred to as a through-the-wall air conditioner, has to have an EER rating greater than 9.4.
- Use sizing charts to choose the appropriate model. You compromise the efficiency of the model if you use the incorrect model size.
Tips: - Consider the voltage of the AC unit, as well as the household receptacle when purchasing an air conditioner.
- Select the unit with the highest Energy Efficiency Ratio (EER) to maximize energy savings.
